Inflation rate declines

New Delhi June 15. The annual rate of inflation declined for the second week in a row to 5.44 per cent for the week ended May 31 due to drop in prices of non-food articles including copra, sunflower and gingelly seeds and soyabean.

The Wholesale Price Index-based rate of inflation fell 0.21 per cent from 5.65 per cent during the previous week. However, it was much higher than 1.93 per cent during the corresponding week of last year.
