Acting on a formal complaint by Dinesh Singh, the Security Assistant posted at Gate No. 2 of Parliament who was subsequently suspended, the police today registered a case of criminal trespass, impersonation and giving statements causing public mischief against Mr. Balbir and arrested him. It is learnt that in the complaint, Mr. Dinesh Singh said he was posted at Gate No. 2 of Parliament when a Toyota Qualis arrived there around 11.05 a.m. A person resembling the Union Minister for Shipping, Shatrughan Sinha, alighted from the vehicle and walked towards the gate. Since the man was talking on his mobile in a similar voice, Mr. Dinesh mistook him for the Minister. Nonetheless, in order to confirm his identity, Mr. Dinesh Singh followed Mr. Balbir Singh and asked him whether he was Mr. Shatrughan Sinha. Mr. Balbir Singh allegedly nodded in affirmation and he was then allowed to enter. Mr. Dinesh Singh said it was only the next day that he came to know it was not Mr. Sinha but Mr. Balbir Singh who had entered Parliament.
