Naveen Jindal, who was leading with Amit after the qualification rounds, missed the final due to political engagements.

Earlier on Sunday, Olympic silver medallist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore launched his campaign with a gold medal in the double trap event. Rathore, who returned with a gold in the same category from the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, fired a score of 172 (128+44) to claim the gold on the opening day of the meet.

The Lieutenant Colonel, who was lagging far behind in the qualifying round with 128 points, improved considerably in the final round firing 44.

The silver medal went to Rathore's partner at the Melbourne Games, Vikram Bhatnagar after he got the better of Ronjan Sodhi in a tiebreaker. Both Bhatnagar (132+38) and Sodhi (124+46) had a tally of 170. In the shootout, Bhatnagar shot two birds to pocket the silver while Sodhi managed only one. — PTI
