Guide for power engineers

POWER ENGINEER'S HANDBOOK: Published by TNEB Engineers' Association, 793, Anna Salai, Chennai-600002. Rs. 1500.

STARTING AS a small diary in 1947, the book has been expanded to cover important areas in electrical engineering such as instrumentation and control, protection and relaying, transmission and distribution.

The present enlarged edition indeed reflects the computer era and reproduces the latest technologies.

Several theoretical points as in the treatment of energy management, power system studies, HVDC transmission, transmission lines, telecommunication including fibre-optic systems, will enhance the value of the book to practising engineers.

One special feature is the theoretical backing of various chapters, with clear diagrams to illustrate and tables to convey practical data. The get-up and printing are excellent.
