Amrita students win VI Mantra contest
Four students of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham have emerged winners of the international paper presentation contest VI Mantra 2007. R. Anoop, Anup J. Nambiar, R. Prathap and Sridhar Divakar, belonging to the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the university, won the first place for their innovative paper “PC Based Condition Monitoring of a Diesel Generat
or Set”, according to a university release.
VI Mantra is an international research paper presentation contest for engineering students in the Asia Pacific region.
It is supported by industry leaders in the field of virtual instrumentation like National Instruments.
The paper from Amrita won a citation from National Instruments and LabVIEW Student Version software for each participant.
Laboratory
Also, National Instruments will support the setting up of a Virtual Instrumentation Laboratory at the Amrita School of Engineering at a cost of $ 5,000.
T.B. Isha, Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering, who was the guide will be sponsored to attend the NIWeek 2008, the worldwide Virtual Instrumentation Conference that will be held in Austin, Texas, the U.S.
