Celebrating women’s writing


Performance to be held on March 11, at Senate Hall, University of Madras, Chepauk Campus, from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.


United States Educational Foundation in India (USEFI) and the Department of English, University of Madras, are organising a theatre performance to celebrate Women’s Day and Women’s History Month on March 11 at Senate Hall, University of Madras, Chepauk Campus, Chennai, from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Curtain Call, the Theatre Wing of the Department of English, University of Madras, will present excerpts from women’s writings, both African American and White American. This performance by theatre course students from the university will be directed by Professor P. Rajani, Emeritus Professor for Theatre Arts, Department of English, University of Madras.

The performance will be followed by an interactive discussion moderated by American Fulbrighter Dr. Kris Fresonke and Indian Fulbrighter Geetha Ganga. The audience will comprise faculty and students from departments of English from the university and city colleges. The programme is open to everyone interested.
