MoU signed
Karnataka University, Dharwad, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sidney Sussex College, University of Cambridge, for enabling candidates to take up research work abroad.
The college will accept as senior members of the college three visiting fellows selected by Dr D.C. Pavate Foundation, Karnatak University. Every year three Dr D.C. Pavate Memorial Visiting Fellowhips will be awarded by the Karnatak University to undertake research at the Centre of International Studies, Judge Business School and the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics of Cambridge University.
While the candidate to the Centre of International Studies will be selected after an all-India competition, the candidates to Judge Business School and the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics will be selected after a competition open to candidates who have studied in Karnataka for a minimum period of five years or who have been employed at any place in Karnataka.
Karnatak University is sending one candidate every year since 2000 to Cambridge University as visiting fellow.
With the signing of the MoU, the number of fellowships has increased to three.
