PG in emergency care
The Emergency Management Research Institute (EMRI) is offering a two-year full time residential Post-Graduate programme in Emergency Care (EMT-A). This programme, which is the first of its kind in India will deliver highest quality education and comprehensive training in the field of emergency care services.
Objective
The programme curriculum is designed to produce leaders in the field of emergency.
The objective of the curriculum is measurable indicators of acquiring competencies of cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains.
Keeping this in mind, the PG Programme in Emergency Care covers extensive clinical knowledge while educating and training students in developing skills in leadership, communication and education in emergency management.
A variety of instructional strategies and technologies will be used to teach students about emergency medical services operations, personal and scene safety, scene and patient assessment, and patient care.

While an individual gets the training and education necessary in handling emergencies, the job also fulfils his self actualization needs of saving lives. As a leader it gives the ultimate sense of pride and joy of serving people and working towards a cause.
Students will be exposed to Emergency care, Review of human systems,
Therapeutic communication, Pharmacology, Ambulance operations, Medical incident command, Rescue awareness, Patient care in special challenges, Toxicology,
Environmental, emergencies, Advanced cardiac life support, Paediatric life support, Trauma resuscitation, Advanced airway management, Trauma system &Mechanism of injury, Healthcare Management for Pre-hospital Providers and Legal Issues in Healthcare.
Learner-centric
The entire programme training is learner-centric, interactive and communicative thereby enhancing individual communication skills.
In nutshell, the communication and soft skills training syllabus revolves around effective communication to the end beneficiary.
Successful candidates can join organisations both public and private such as hospitals, fire department, ambulance service providers companies, emergency service providers.
They may also join in other settings (e.g., emergency departments, hospital inpatient units, medical clinics, doctors’ offices, oil rigs, steel mills, and other industrial set-ups). Closer to the field, they can also become EMT instructors and also be an integral part in clinical research as well as emergency management.
On completion of the two-year full time certificate post graduate programme, the students would also be certified as - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
