Scholarships

Campus Abroad, a pioneering consultant in overseas education, will conduct interviews to select eligible students for availing scholarship from U.K. universities. Eight universities — University of Salford, University of Hull, University of Glamorgan, University of Greenwich, Oxford Brookes University, University of East Anglia, Heriot Watt University and Bournemouth University — are part of this scholarship programme.

All the universities offer a range of full and partial scholarships for various undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. courses to Indian students. Students will be selected for bursary on basis of academic performance.

University of Salford will award over £ 750,000 in scholarships and bursaries to students joining postgraduate courses in September 2008 or January 2009. All postgraduate applicants will automatically be considered for a £ 2,000 or £ 1,000 scholarship or bursary.

At the University of Hull, international students’ scholarship up to £ 3000 is available for students of Biology, Science, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Geography, Sports Science and Psychology both at the undergraduate and post-graduate level.

The University of Glamorgan offers scholarships for Indian students and students will be automatically considered for scholarship when they apply. Confirmation of scholarship will be included in offer letter. Glamorgan offers £1,500 per year for undergraduate degree courses, £2,000 for postgraduate courses and £1,500 for MBA.

The Cardiff Business School Scholarships are offered to undergraduate students beginning their studies in September 2008. The scholarships are available for degree programmes in the areas of Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Management, Business Studies and Economics. The scholarships are worth £2000 per year. They will be available in each year of undergraduate studies, subject to continuing satisfactory academic performance in years one and two of chosen degree.

At the Oxford Brookes University, the John Henry Brookes International Scholarships are available for students applying for an undergraduate degree starting in September 2008, and are currently attending a university preparation course in the U.K. or in their own country. Successful students will receive an award of £2000, to be deducted from the tuition fees in their first year.

At University of East Anglia, all international students are eligible for a scholarship of between 10 and 50 per cent of tuition fees which are given on first come first served basis. Scholarships are awarded to students on the basis of academic merit and are normally for the duration of the period of study — three years for Bachelor and Ph.D. degrees and one year for Master’s programmes.Heriot-Watt University offers partial scholarships for up to 50 high-calibre students on selected postgraduate courses. Scholarship applications can only be made once an offer to study on the course has been issued. Awards are made on a competitive basis. Students enrolled for Heriot-Watt University are also available for Scotland International Scholarship Programme.Scotland International Scholarship Programme offers 22 scholarships for students for the academic year 2008/9. The scholarship covers the tuition fees and a living allowance. Priority is given to science, technology and creative industries including arts and culture.

Bournemouth University international scholarship of £ 1000 per year is offered to students who wish to study an undergraduate degree and can demonstrate they already have an outstanding academic profile. The scholarship is offered to students in the field of Design, Engineering and Computing, Media and Services Management.

CET preparation

4GMAT

4GMAT, the GMAT Preparation division of Test Catalyst aimed at providing online and classroom preparation for Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), announced the launch of its first classroom training programme in Bangalore. 4GMAT is presently offering classes in Chennai and Mumbai. Students of 4GMAT have made it to the top B-schools, including Kellogg School of Management, Purdue University, INSEAD and leading B-schools in Asia.

This course is focused on building the skills necessary for students to compete and get into top business programmes. It has been designed to meet the needs of students in India and overseas.
