TNAU students emerge winners in research convention
A group of three students from the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has won the first prize for a project presented by it at ‘Anveshan’, a national-level students’ research convention. The team consisting of B. Arun, B. Raja Guru and M. Marimuthu Ram, all third-year B. Tech. Agricultural Biotechnology students, presented a project on ‘Mushroom Bio-pesticides for Eco-friendly Management of Post Harvest Diseases of Fruits and Ve
getables’, which qualified the team to take part in the national-level competition to be held in Pune from May 17 to 19.
According to a university release, the convention was organised by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Its objective was to identify young talent with research aptitude and interest to take up research as a career and to promote the research talent in the country. The convention also aimed at providing proper incentives to enhance the skills of potential students.
Another team, consisting of Surendra Kumar, Debayan Chakraborty, Nowhar Ganesh Madadev and S. Subramaniam, of M. Sc. Biotechnology presented a project titled ‘A Biotechnological Approach to Combat Global Warming’.
