PGDCTE entrance

The Central Institute of Tool Design (CITD), Balanagar, Hyderabad - 500 037, has invited applications for an entrance examination to be held on August 31, 2008, at CITD, Hyderabad, for admission to its postgraduate diploma in CAD/CAM for tool engineering (PGDCTE). CITD is a premier institute providing specialised training in tool engineering.

Duration of the course is one year (3 semesters). Total seats - 40, B.E. or B.Tech. holders in mechanical or production engineering are eligible to apply. Fee: Rs. 30,000 per semester.

Application form

Application form and other details can be downloaded from the website www.citdindia.org and duly filled-in application forms should be sent to the Director, CITD (CAD/CAM), Central Institute of Tool Design, Hyderabad - 500 037 along with a crossed demand draft for Rs. 300 (Rs. 100 for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories) from any nationalised bank drawn in favour of the Principal Director, CITD, Hyderabad.

Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories should enclose a copy of the caste certificate attested by a gazetted officer.

The last date for submission of application forms without late fee is August 25, 2008.

Wood technology

The Indian Plywood Industries Research and Training Institute, under the Union Government, Bangalore - 560 022, has invited applications for admission to its one-year fulltime postgraduate diploma course in mechanical wood industries technology commencing in the third week of October.

Eligibility

Graduates in science or engineering from a recognised university are eligible to apply. Age limit as on October 1, 2008 is 28. (31 years for candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes category and 33 for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories).

Selection is based on the marks obtained in B.Sc., B.E. or B.Tech. degree.

Application form and prospectus can be obtained by sending a requisition letter along with a demand draft for Rs. 250 drawn in favour of the Director, Indian Plywood Industries Research and Training Institute, Bangalore - 560 022, to the same address. The filled-in applications should reach the institute on or before September 1.

The last date for submission of application forms is August 25.
