Longing for the magic

J. RUKHSANA PARVEEN

POTTER MANIA: Fans are hoping against hope that J. K. Rowling will be back again with a bang.

Moula Ali College of Engineering and Technology, Anantapur: Time is Galleons. It seems only yesterday that the whole world was waiting eagerly for the much-awaited global phenomenon, the release of the last novel of the most successful series.

Yes, none other than Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

On the occasion of the first year of its release much will be written on this.

The novels charmed both the old and the young alike. Ranging from the deep secrets of the heart of Dumbledore to the extent of evil Voldemort could go, the novels took the readers into a different world of fantasy with them.

After the release of Half Blood Prince the time passed on at a snail’s pace. As days changed to weeks and weeks to months and months to years, the thirst to know the unknown kept mounting.

As the month of July dawned there were intense speculations as to what will happen.

The fan sites were buzzing with discussions as to whether Snape is really honest or not and if Dumbledore is still alive? And the hottest of all ‘Will Harry survive in the end?’

The day which the fans were eagerly waiting for finally came.

For some it may have exceeded their expectations and for some it may have fallen short.

Whatever may be the reaction of fans Rowling the maestro has kept something or the other in store for everyone.

Rowling has indeed become the role model for a lot of women. To say in her own words she has proved beyond doubt that “Wit beyond measure is mans greatest treasure.”

Deathly Hallows is so far the most emotional novel by Rowling. In this she has dealt with many harsh realities of life.

The demise of Fred, Remus and Dora has left many fans in tears. Hermione has indeed been the most dependable character throughout the series.

Going through all the novels again, it is a little bit difficult to accept the thought that Harry could somehow be so grown up having his own kids.

It indeed is a lot difficult for the fans to quench their thirst of magic. Let us hope and expect that Rowling will again be back with a bang. As rightly pointed out her novels are sure to be read, re-read and read again.
