B.Sc.Nursing
The College of Nursing under the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Safdarjung Hospital, Government of India, New Delhi, has invited applications from unmarried female candidates for admission to its B.Sc. (Hons) nursing course commencing in October 2008. The course is affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi.
Eligibility
Those who have passed Plus-Two or equivalent examination with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes category) in aggregate in English, physics, chemistry and biology and have also passed each subject separately are eligible to apply.
Applicants should be aged between 17 and 21 years as on August 1, 2008.

Duly filled-in applications should be submitted directly to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprasatha University, New Delhi. Last date for receipt of applications is August 30.
The common entrance test will be conducted on September 20, 2008.

National talent search
The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will conduct the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE-2009) for those studying in standard eight during 2008 in order to identify talents. Those qualifying in the test will be eligible for scholarship for higher studies up to Ph.D.
There will be two stages for the selection process.
In stage one, selection will be done by the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) through a written examination, which will be held on November 16, 2008.
Students qualifying in the first stage will be eligible to appear for the second stage examination, which will be held on May 10, 2009 across the country by the NCERT.
NTS examination 2009 will comprise Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering social science, science and mathematics. Final selection will be on the basis of an interview.
SCERT will issue a separate notification inviting applications for stage one state-level (screening test) examination.

The completed application form duly signed by the head of the schools should be submitted to the State Liaison Officer before August 31, 2008.
