Winter school on ‘Metagenomics’
Need of the hour: R. Karpaga Kumaravel, Vice-Chancellor, Madurai Kamaraj University, addressing the valedictory session of the winter school.
A winter school on ‘Metagenomics,’ conducted by the UGC-Networking Resource Centre in Biological Sciences (UGC-NRCBS) of School of Biological Sciences of Madurai Kamaraj University, concluded on March 16. Fifteen participants from various parts of India took part in the winter school.
G. Marimuthu, Deputy Co-coordinator, welcomed the gathering at the valedictory session. P. Gunasekaran, Co-ordinator, presented a report. R. Karpaga Kumaravel, Vice-Chancellor, who distributed certificates to the participants, stressed the need for such training programmes. S.L. Govindwar, Advisor, Department of Biotechnology, in his valedictory address, highlighted the applications of Metagenomics research.
J. Rajendran, Lecturer, proposed a vote of thanks.
