Karunya inks MoU with CINVESTAV
INTERNATIONAL TIE-UP: Mary Anne Fernandez, Registrar, Karunya University exchanging an MoU with Velumani Subramaniam, Coordinator for International Relations, CINVESTAV, Mexico at the university in Coimbatore.
Karunya University entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Centre for Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV), Mexico, for research and development in basic and frontier sciences.
According to a release, the MoU envisages several programmes to be taken up which will result in scientific and cultural development, catering to the advancement of the Mexican and Indian communities.
Sustainable energy, micro systems and nanotechnology, biotechnology and bio-engineering, and water management are the main areas identified for taking up joint programmes.
Student exchange facility
It will also facilitate the exchange of students for post-graduate studies and research at CINVESTAV. There will also be scope for developing joint research proposals, planning of academic programmes and organising seminars / workshops / conferences. The exchange of teaching experience and industrial expertise gained by both institutions will be mutually beneficial.
The MoU was signed by Anne Mary Fernandez, Registrar, Karunya University, and Velumani Subramaniam, Co-ordinator for International Relations, CINVESTAV.
