M.Sc electronics & instrumentation course in industry linkage mode

Candidates acquire skills in design, development and application of various types of instruments in the electronics, electrical and other fields

These days, the universities are coming out with new ideas and courses to cater to the wide-ranging needs of the students in the emerging competitive scenario.

The M.Sc electronics and instrumentation is one such course being offered by the Krishna University (KU) in collaboration with the Efftronics Systems Pvt. Ltd., Vijayawada.

Launched from this 2009-`10 academic year, the two-year M.Sc course in the collaborative mode aims at providing the best exposure to the industry to enable students fare well when pass out ultimately.

After the completion of the course, the candidate acquires skills in design, development and application of various types of instruments in the electronics, electrical and other fields.

Krishna University vice-chancellor M.K. Durga Prasad says that the M.Sc electronics and instrumentation course is being offered in the industry-academia linkage programme and it is for the first time that such an effort is made anywhere in the State. The university will make available lecturers to take classes for the students at the company premises itself.

Efftronics Systems managing director D. Ramakrishna is of the viewpoint that students can stand to gain a lot of direct experience under the linkage programme.

Their company has readily agreed for the tie-up with the Krishna University, Machilipatnam, to offer the novel programme to the interested candidates.

The annual intake of the course is 15 students.

The course basically deals with the design, analysis, improvement and application of instruments in electronic, industrial and other fields.

As the classes are proposed to be offered on the premises of the company, the students are expected to gain a lot of additional skills and get work-ready on completion of the course.

The students will have a wider scope as far as employment opportunities are concerned. They can find placements in different industries or there will also be a scope for self-employment and entrepreneurship.
