Vedic music

VEDIC SANGEETA Foundation, an organisation created to preserve and promote Vedic music and the flawless chanting of the Vedic hymns, had its first meeting at the TAG Centre. The feedback session began with soul-stirring recitals of the Rig, Yajur and Sama Vedas by different groups of ghanapaatis.

The recitation was followed by an in-depth, scholarly exposition by noted musicologist B. M. Sundaram. Eminent musicologists and scholars, Dr. V. V. Srivatsa and Dr. Pappu Venugopala Rao, offered expert comments. The inaugural function of this Foundation is slated to take place in the first week of October. For details ring up 4997422.
