A success formula
"STYLE" IS a film that will be an out and out entertainer. The title and story have nothing special to offer. Sibi Chakravarthy, who is the director of the movie, does not believe that grandeur alone will make a film run. "Only the contents will," he says.
It was in Walajabad that he was shooting the first meeting of the lead pair, Lawrence and Gayathri Raghuram. The hero is going to a friend's place and boards the train at the last minute. When he is looking for a place to sit he sees a girl sleeping in the lower berth. He tries to see her face but in vain. When the train reaches his destination, he writes a poem on a piece of paper, keeps it at her feet and gets down from the train. The two meet at a friend's wedding and she gets to know that he is the person who had left the poem.
The director shot the scene quickly. "I do not have big things to say about my film. But I am sure that it will be a hit and more than that it will fetch the distributors their money. I have beautiful dances by Lawrence, soul- searching music by Bharani, and comedy by Vadivelu. We have shot the film in different places such as Pollachi, Nellaiyampathi in Kerala, SRM and Hindustan colleges in the city and also in AVM and Film City."
Lawrence hopes the film does well, as the script is tight and gripping. "I expect the film to do well at the box office," he says.
Apart from Lawrence, Gayathri Raghuram and Vadivelu, the cast includes Anand Raj, Ilavarasu, Vaiyapuri, Chaplin Balu, Nalini, Jothi, Soniya, Kuyili, Junior Silk and new finds Payal and Amar.
Music is by Bharani, camera is handled by Dinesh, dialogue is by Padmamagan, editing is done by K.Pazhanivel, art is by Deva, dances are choreographed by Lawrence, Prasanna and Chinna and the stunts are by Rajasekar.
The film is produced by K.Thirugnanam. Story, screenplay, direction are by Sibi Chakravarthy.
