Music contest

RAJAH ANNAMALAIPURAM Bhaktha Jana Sabha will conduct a music competition in Carnatic vocal and instrumental, including violin, veena, mridangam, ghatam and other percussion instruments, for the Tyagaraja music festival. The competition, for those in the age group of 15 to 20 years, will be held on February 2, at Sri Sringeri Jagadguru Pravachana Mandiram, R. A. Puram, at 1 p.m. Those interested may send in their application with a list of three songs, to R. Srinivasan, No. 8/ 21, Ammani Ammal Street, Mandaveli, Chennai- 600 028, stating their age, qualification, and the guru under whom they learnt music, on or before February 1. Those who have won prizes from the sabha earlier are not eligible. For more enquiries, contact 2493 86 82.
