Service with devotion
SRI MAH Meru Trust was formed in 1982 and assigned in favour of Swamiji Murugabhushanam, for the promotion of culture and tradition as expounded by the Vedas and other holy scriptures.
Sri Mah Meru Dhyana Nilayam (Sri Nagaram, Kandigai, Thenneri Post, Sriperumbudur, Kanchipuram District-631604. Ph: 954111-72234), is a unique temple for Shakti, where along with Mah Meru, various deities are worshipped in the form of Yantras. The temple was opened in 1993. Religious heads like Sri Jayendra Saraswathi of the Kanchi math have performed Maha Meru puja at the shrine.
Annadhanam, which is considered important for worship at Sri Mah Meru Dhyana Nilayam, is done thrice every Pournami (full moon) day and on other festival days. Navarathri is also of great significance here. The managing trustee of the Dhyana Nilayam, M. Hariraum's concern for senior citizens, who despite economic affluence, suffer from loneliness and lack of proper care, has resulted in the setting up of A Golden Nest, a home for senior citizens.
The Sri Mah Meru Trust, No.9, Hanumantha Road, Balaji Nagar, Royapettah, Chennai-600014 (Ph: 28131254; 28132183) also aims at establishing meditation centres, educational institutions, medical care centres, institutes for the teaching of the Vedas, yoga, physiotherapy etc., relief camps for the distressed and welfare centres for the downtrodden. The Trust plans to have a library equipped with books on Indology and medicine. Plans are afoot to propagate the teachings of Adi Sankara, Ramakrishna, Ramana and Krishna Chaitanya among others, with special emphasis on Goddess Shakti, the Navavarna puja and Kundalini yoga. Sri Mah Meru Trust is a charitable body that is open to all without any distinction of caste, creed, race, religion or sex.
