Panchamuka Anjaneya idol to be installed

THE INSTALLATION of the 36-ft high Viswaroopa, Jayamangala, Panchamuka Sri Anjaneya Swami idol and the Panchamuka Hanumath Yanthram in Panchavati Kshethram, popularly known as Pappanchavadi on the Tindivanam-Pondicherry highway via Kilianur, will take place between 10.30 a.m. and 12 noon on June 11, according to S. Ramani Anna, managing trustee, Sri Jayamaruthi Seva Trust and Panchamuka Jayamaruthi Charitable Trust.

The idol, with the faces of Anjaneya, Narasimha, Varaha and Garuda on four sides and that of Hayagriva above them, has been carved out of a single boulder, weighing 150 tonnes, brought from the hills of Pazhaiyaseevaram, in the Swarnam Silpakalaikkoodam in Kelambakkam on the old Mahabalipuram road. The work has been completed and the idol taken to Pappanchavadi.

The installation of the idol and the three feet long Hanumath Yanthram will be preceded by Vigneswara puja and Mahaganapathi Japa Homam at 6.30 a.m., on May 31, and the recitation of the Panchamuka Moola Mantra Japa Homam will begin at 4.30 p.m. the same day. This will continue till June 11. Surya Mantra Japa Homam, Rudra Japa Homam, Samkshepa Ramayana Homam, Vasthu Homam and Mahasudarsana Homam, Aavahanthi Homam, Mahalakshmi, Navagraha, Durga-Chandi Homam, and Panchamuka Hanumath Moola Mantra Japa Homam will be performed on the succeeding days. Mahapoornahuthi will take place at 6.30 a.m., on June 11. After this the installation of the idol and the Yanthram will take place between 10.30 am and 12 noon the same day.

Sri Muralidhar Swami will participate in the installation of the idol and the Yanthram. Dinakar Sarma of Kumbakonam, Vaidhyanatha Sastrigal of Pudukkottai and Sundaresa Josyar of Maruthuvakkudi will conduct the homams and pujas.
