Theatre workshop
A TEN-week workshop conducted by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, the National Akademi of Music, Dance and Drama, for young theatre artistes of North Zone concluded on September 22.
The workshop is part of a decade long programme initiated by the Akademi in the year 2001 to provide wholesome training and guidance to the new generation of theatre workers in different regions of the country. The objective of the workshop is to identify, support and shape theatre makers of the future and create a large resource base of educators and trainers in the field of theatre.
Sangeet Natak Akademi has envisaged a three phase training programme, first being for a month, second for three months and the third phase for a year in 2001. "
