``The Spy Who Loved Me"
THERE SEEMS to be an appeal in this day and age which is probably why Blockbuster Home Entertainment Co in association with Ashok Amritraj Entertainment Co is bringing home some of the old popular films from Hollywood dubbed in Indian languages to reach out to a larger audience. In Hindi, Telugu and Tamil, these films that made characters such as Bond legendary and appealing, will be re-released in theatres. This for the benefit of a generation which does not know much about the iconic status of actors such as Sean Connery and Roger Moore.
At a special showing at Shanti theatre, ``The Spy Who Loved Me" one of the most popular of the Bond series, it was evident that despite the progress in technology and themes, good old fashioned espionage is still charming in its simplistic presentation. And A. V. Mohan who heads Block Buster Home Entertainment has initiated the release of Bond classics, ``The Spy Who Loved Me" (to be released as Pyar Dushman Se) and ``Goldfinger" (Sone Ka Haath).
According to him kids who were too young to be part of the Bond rage will now be able to understand the charisma of such films. And be entertained as well! Block Buster has bought the All India Theatrical re-release and television rights of several MGM classics like ``The Magnificent Seven," ``Ben Hur," the entire Bond series, in the main Indian languages as well as English and Sinhalese. And these will be released over the next two years in India and Sri Lanka.
