Divine releases

SAMRAJ MUSIC has brought out the rendition of Skanda Sashti Kavacham and Sri Venkatesa Suprabhatham sung by Bombay Jayashri and Nithyasree Mahadevan respectively, for which L. V. Vaidyanathan has composed music. Icon Perfumeries, unit of Icon Household Products (P) Ltd., has joined hands with IdeaQuest to form Samraj Music and Samraj Agarbathi. The agarbathis are said to give the devotee the ambience of standing in the sanctum sanctorum of Palani (Sashti) and Tirumala Tirupati (Suprabhatham). The album is available as CD and cassette at all music stores in Tamil Nadu. For details, contact: 2620 9848/3104 6374.

`Arul Tharum Annamalai', CD, released by Vedu's Music Mind (5213 1501; vedusord@yahoo.com) captures the glory of the divine hill worshipped as Arunachala. Special emphasis is laid on Girivalam on Full Moon Day. The narrative helps the viewers brush up their knowledge about the legends associated with Arunachala and the sanctity of the place and includes information on the saints associated with the hill such as Sri Ramana Maharishi and Seshadri Swamigal. One, however, feels a closer look at the temple and the important rituals would have made it more comprehensive. A pleasant experience on the whole.
