THE BIRTH centenary of U. Ve. Krishnaswami Tatacharya will be celebrated at his village, Navalpakkam, in Tiruvannamalai District, from March 15 to 18. His birthday falls on March 18. Krishnaswami Tatacharya was a descendant of U. Ve. Ayya Kumara Tata Desika, a rajaguru of the Nayak Kings of Thanjavur. A master of Krishna Yajur Veda, Nyaya, Mimamsa and Visishtadvaita, Krishnaswami Tatacharya taught Nyaya and Vedanta at Sriperumbudur Sanskrit College and served as a Vedic scholar at the TTD.
