THE KUMBHABISHEKAM of Kuzhithurai Ammankoil, housing Sri Mahalakshmi, is to be performed on May 23.

The temple is about 400 years old and the deity is worshipped as `Varaprasadhi.' The total expenditure is estimated at Rs. 60,000 (including Chandi Homam).
