IT IS a celebration of textures, colours, weaves and textile embellishments at Fabindia, the store which brings to Chennai the best of hand-woven Indian fabrics sourced from all over the country. The contemporary styles are expressed in the Fabindia line of short tops, kurtis, salwar kurta, Western casual wear ensembles, men's wear and children's clothes.

It encapsulates a tradition in cotton and silk weaving. It is also seen in the range of attractive bed and table linen, curtains and upholstery. Fabindia's new avatar has neatly separated sections for saris and dupattas, which showcase a variegated range of block-prints, woven and plain fabric. The men's wear section presents elegant embroidered kurta, shirts in staid and new age colours and well-cut jackets, while the children's section is a sea of colour.

Top of the line cotton and silk furnishings, upholstery and curtain material occupy a whole floor along with jute and cotton hand-woven dhurries, jute accessories etc. Take a fascinating fashion trip to India's textile heritage shop, Fabindia, at Ilford House, 3, Woods Road, Off Anna Salai, Chennai.
