Hanumath Jayanti

HANUMATH JAYANTI conducted by Sri Panchamukha Dwadhasabhuja Anjaneya Festival Committee (24941753) will begin on January 1 at P. K. Mahal, Chitirakulam, Mylapore.

The 10-day festival will include Veda parayanam and music concerts daily.

The deity will appear in special alankarams on all the days.

On the inaugural day, special tirumanjanam will be performed to the deity in the morning followed by annadhanam.

At a function in the evening, musicians O. S. Tyagarajan, M. S. Gopalakrishnan, Narmanda and A. Kanyakumari will be conferred the title, Swararaga Saragnyar. Guruvayur Dorai and V. Suresh will be conferred Layavadhya Sironmani.

The committee, conducting its 20th year festival, will honour Mylai Rajendran (nagaswaram) as Asthana Vidwan.

The function will be followed by the violin recital of T. N. Krishnan.
