IN COLOUR, form and design, Asharaa presents contemporary compositions, which touch on different aspects of one's lifestyle. Products range from sensuous Italian glassware, handmade Portuguese painted tiles to clothes by young Indian designers, fashion accessories, cushions, curtains, Swiss designer furniture, lamps, paintings and decorative artefacts.
The custom-made furniture by Sonja Weder and Thomas Schnider has an ethereal quality and is contemporary in line and curve. Sonja uses hand-made paper, metal powders and natural materials such as seeds, leaves and fish scales to create exclusive textures. Furniture with enormous banana leaves, coffee table tops shaped like elephant ears, dining tables and matching chairs sprinkled with leaves and seeds make unique interior statements. The eye-catching furniture also has lighting fixtures.
The handmade jewellery, especially the silver line, is particularly exquisite. Asharaa's lifestyle boutique also offers embellished silk cushions in jewel tones. It also does customised gift-wrapping and trousseau packing. Asharaa is situated at 37, Bheemanna Garden Road, Raja Annamalai Puram.
