Alliance Francaise de Delhi and the Embassy of France, in association with The Park, New Delhi and Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation, presented a Rock concert by Louise Attaque at Garden of Five Senses this past Tuesday at 6.30 p.m. sending everyone rocking to the band.
Louise Attaque is by far the most popular and phenomenal rock band in France today. AFD in cooperation with the French Cultural Centre presented Stephan Weitzel's exhibition `Hunting on Foreign Ground'. Weitzel is a multi disciplinary artist, whose approach involves integrating drawing, sculpture, installation, writing and photography. His solo show ended this past week Bangla Melodies
Dwijen Mukhopadhyay, a well known artiste of both Rabindra Sangeet as well as Hindi and Bengali film songs with over 2000 records released by HMV presented Bangla melodies of yesteryears at the IIC this past Sunday.
The India International Centre was also host to the Baul Mela. Led by eminent Baul singer Bhakta Das the group, including Sandhya Das, presented Lalan Geeti. Bhakta Das is one of the best Baul singers in Kolkata today and has presented recitals all over the world.
To mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India, the Embassy of China and Ministries of Culture, India and China, presented a Chinese Arts exhibition at the Rabindra Bhavan Gallery, Lalit Kala Akademi this past week.
Contemporary Israeli designs, Domains, were on view at Mati Ghar, IGNCA till this past week. The exhibition was presented by the Embassy of Israel and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.
Somashree Ghosh Dastidar, disciple of Meeta Pandit of Gwalior gharana, presented a Hindustani vocal music recital at the India Habitat Centre this past week.
At Vasundara Enclave's Sri Sankatahara Ganapathy Temple in East Delhi, Maha Kumbhabhishekam is scheduled to be performed this Friday morning.
The idols of Sri Sankatahara Ganapathy, Sri Anjaneyar and Navagrahas are being installed. Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit, EVKS Elangovan, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, G.K. Vasan, President, TNCC and other dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremony.

FICCI auditorium was the venue for two important performances - Bharatanatyam performance by the Dhananjayans and Balamuralikrishna's Carnatic music recital this past Saturday and Sunday.

Cross Media Performance
Theatre artiste Maya Kishna Rao and filmmaker Surajit Sarkar combined to present a cross-media performance `Heads Are Meant For Walking Into' this past week at the India Habitat Centre.
The Woman - Womanhood
Rajat Baran Mahapatra, an upcoming artist who has been experimenting with different forms and media has this time come out with the theme of womanhood depicted through different forms of colours of acrylic.
The series on womanhood has a set of 36 paintings. The first set of six paintings are being exhibited as a preview show at the Indian Habitat Centre's Habiart Gallery this Friday. The exhibition will then travel to other metros.
