This movie, a Thai blockbuster has a body count of over a hundred. Yes, you read that right. If you watch this film, you will see over one hundred characters killed off, that is if you are in the mood for it. There are twenty minutes of narrative involving terrorists taking a village hostage and threatening the Prime Minister of Thailand with a nuclear bomb. The rest of the film is over an hour of non-stop, relentless action. First, the terrorists kill the villagers. Then the villagers kill the terrorists.
Directed by the action choreographer of the world-famous Thai martial-arts masterpiece, Ong-Bak, this film is a plotless excuse for insane, life-threatening stunts.
For instance, an 80 year old man kickboxes, a six-year old girl obliterates a terrorist soldier, a one legged, teenager takes on a mercenary, a blind man mows down his enemies with a submachine gun, a soccer player kicks things into people's faces and an evil general is blown up by a rocket launcher.
Everything is done without wires, computer graphics, or dummies. Every shot you see features real, albeit crazy, human beings, actually putting their bodies on the line. The fights are nice, but it is the stunts that really make this film watchable. This film hearkens back to the old-fashioned lunacy of the early 90s Hong Kong action classics, like Jackie Chan's ``Police Story" (where he almost paralysed himself for life doing a stunt), or John Woo's ``Hard Boiled," featuring a 35-minute orgy of bloodshed in a hospital
