Music courses
To commemorate 25 years of dedicated service to music, Sampradaya has planned a series of special courses.
One of them is on Ragam Tanam Pallavi and another is on Navarathri kritis by Maharajah Swati Thirunal. Chingleput Ranganathan will conduct the Ragam-Tanam-Pallavi course on September 14 and 15.
The Navarathri kirtanas of Swati Tirunal are sung as the principal songs, one on each of the nine days of the Navarathri festival, before Goddess Saraswati in the Navarathrimandapam of the Fort Palace of the Maharaja of Thiruvananthapuram.
Each composition is rendered with extensive raga alapana, neraval and kalpanaswaras. The special course will be held from September 19 to 21. The resource person is P. S. Narayanswamy.
The course fee for Ragam Tanam Pallavi is Rs. 1,000 and for the other Rs. 750. Application forms can be collected at Sampradaya on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
