On Venkatakavi's compositions
Oothukadu Venkatakavi Academy Trust is conducting a competition in vocal music and flute of Venkatakavi's compositions for children aged between 8 and 17, on September 25 at 8 a.m. The venue will be Dakshinamurthy auditorium, P. Remembering MS
Hamsadhwani will observe the 89th birthday of M.S. Subbulakshmi, on September 21, at Youth Hostel, Indira Nagar at 6.p.m. The disciples ofSulochana Pattabhiraman will present a special music programme comprising devotional songs by divine composers.
Musical Homage
S. Satyamurti Centre and Brahma Gana Sabha have jointly organised a music programme to pay homage to freedom fighter S. Satyamurti on September 17 at 6.30 p.m. The venue is Narada Gana Sabha. Sikkil Gurucharan will present a vocal concert.
Guru Peyarchi
Guru Peyarchi, which falls on September 19, will be observed at the Omampuliyur Dakshinamurthi temple with abishekams, archanas and homams. Omampuliyur, which is a peeda parihara kshetram for those with birth star Revathi, is about 7 kilometres south of Kattumannarkoil, Cuddalore district. It is one of the five Puliyur kshetrams worshipped by Vyaghrapada Rishi.

No.1 Kambar St., Mahalakshmi Nagar, Selaiyur (Ph: 044-2229 0134), Guru Peyarchi will be celebrated with Guru Peyarchi Natchatira Homam at Chennai Om Sri Skandasramam on September 19 at 7 a.m. Special abishekam to Dattatreya will be performed as part of the celebrations.

Puratasi Festival
The Puratasi Festival at Sri Oppiliappan Pattabisheka Ramar Kainkarya Samiti, Madipakkam begins tomorrow. On all the Saturdays of the month at 10 a.m. and on September 18 at 11 a.m. Thirpapavadai Utsavam will take place. On October 10 the deity will be offered prabhai.
Nataka Utsav

Consecration
