Honour for artistes

Sri Rama Bhaktha Jana Samaj (Ph: 2473 1529/2472 8318) will be honouring Sudha Ragunathan with `Sangeetha Maamani' award and Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti with `Sangeetha Kala Seva Ratna' award during its ninth annual music festival on December 18. R. Seshasayee, Managing Director, Ashok Leyland, will present the awards.

Award for vocalist

The South India Heritage Programme has selected Sikkil Gurucharan for the Ramabhadran Centenary Music Award, 2005. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 and will be presented to him on October 23, during the centenary celebrations of K. V. Rajagopalan Ramabhadrachariar.

Festival

Brahma Gana Sabha will be conducting the December Art Festival from December 3-31. The title "Gaana Padhmam" will be conferred to Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, "Natya Padhmam" to Kalanidhi Narayanan and "Nataka Padhmam" to Raadhu.
