Insight into Indian cinema

This week Tom Brook presents the second of two specials from Mumbai. Watch it on BBC World's Talking Movies, October 28 at 1300 hours. The programme is devoted to Indian cinema and looks not only at the way in which Indians watch films, but how Indian cinema is grappling with globalisation and state censorship.

There is a report on Indian production that have departed from the chaste Bollywood formula, and Tom asks whether despite modern touches, it's hard for Bollywood to move away from the entertaining-but- simple song and dance spectacle.
