P. Obul Reddy, industrialist, will be the chief guest at the function.

Following the inauguration, Gopika Varma will give a Mohiniyattam dance recital.

Honour for musician

This year, the title, `Sapthagiri Sangeetha Vidwanmani' will be conferred on musician T. T. Sita of Hyderabad by M. V. S. Prasad, IAS, former executive officer, TTD, at a sadas that will be held on August 6, following which she will give a brief recital.

The festival will feature 60 artistes from different parts of South India during the festival.

Sita has learnt her early music lessons from her father M. Varadachari, who was not only a lawyer but also a great vainika.

Later in life, she came under the tutelage of Chittoor Subramania Pillai who shaped her as a performer of standing.

Sita was much sought after in Andhra Pradesh but was shy and shunned publicity.
