The dilapidated temple needs funds.

Needs repair: The gopuram of Sree Kari Varadaraja Perumal Kovil.
Sree Kari Varadaraja Perumal Kovil at Kanakampalayam, Kallipetti, was founded about 400 years ago. The temple is 12 km from Gobichettipalayam and about 25 km from Sathyamangalam. The temple was formed under the aegis of the Mysore Kings — Chikk
a Devarayar Vamsa — and consecrated on Sree Jayanthi day, 397 years ago. The principal deities in this temple are Karivaradaraja Perumal with his Consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi. Nammazhwar, Thirumangai Azhwar and Udayavar also grace the shrine.
Insufficient earnings
At present, the temple is in a state of disrepair. It has over 150 acres of dry land, but the earnings are insufficient to meet recurring expenditure such as conduct of puja (twice a day), annual festival and the salaries of temple staff.
Karivaradan Kainkarya Sabha, based in Srirangam, is now collecting funds to carry out the necessary work. The Perumal vimanam and Thayar sannidhi have been constructed, and work remains to be done on the yagasalai. Some civil maintenance works are also pending. All this is expected to cost Rs. 10-12 lakhs. Those who wish to contribute may send a cheque or DD favouring Karivaradan Kainkarya Sabha, payable at Tiruchirapalli, to: V. Narasimhan (sabha president, Former Registrar, IIT Kanpur), GFG Vignesh Nivedha, Gandhi Road, Srirangam, Tiruchirapalli-620 006. The donation will be acknowledged with a receipt. For details, call V. Narasimhan at 0431-2432221 or N. Raghavan at 0431-6529159.
