  • Australia beat India by 84 runs

    Kochi, Oct. 2 (PTI): Australia defeated India by 84 runs in the second cricket one-day international here today.

    The visitors thus took a 1-0 lead in the seven-match series after the first game in Bangalore was washed out on Saturday.

    Brief scores - Australia: 306 for six in 50 overs (Brad Haddin 87 not out, Andrew Symonds 87, Matthew Hayden 75; S Sreesanth 3-67, Irfan Pathan 2-47).

    India: 222 all out in 47.3 overs (M S Dhoni 58, R Uthappa 41, R Dravid 31; B Hogg 3-40, S Clark 2-14, M Clarke 2-35).
