  • INOC condemns violence against Christians

Toronto (PTI): The Canadian chapter of Indian National Overseas Congress (INOC) has condemned the recent incidents of violence against Christians in Orissa and Karnataka.

"The recent violence by the Hindu radicals allegedly VHP, Sangh Parivar and the BJP has trampled the rights of minorities in gross violations of human rights," INOC (Canada) President Jay Banerjee said in a statement.

Banerjee said that the entire Christian community of the world was "shocked and dismayed" over these incidents.

Accusing the saffron groups of playing vote bank politics by fomenting communal tension, he said, "such acts are not only loathsome, despicable, contemptible, and unconstitutional but are also against humanity, peace, love, and harmony."

"Every Indian is morally responsible for these killings, rapes and the merciless torching of homes perpetrated against Christians," Banerjee added.
