Mihir Shah appointed member of Planning Commission
Bhopal (PTI) Renowned economist, Mihir Shah has become the first person from Madhya Pradesh to be appointed as a member of Central Planning Commission, official sources said here on Sunday.
Dr. Shah who has been working on rural development and watershed for the last 20 years lives at Bagli in Dewas district in the State, they said.
He might be entrusted the responsibility of Rural Development Schemes in view of his experience in that field, they said.
The Planning Commission appoints nearly eight members from all over the country who are considered experts in their respective fields, they said.
When contacted Dr. Shah said that his top priority would be to initiate reforms in rural administration.
