Rashid: India has not provided details of Pak. suspect
Islamabad, March 7 (PTI): Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid, who has been accusing India of not providing enough inputs of the Samjhauta blasts probe, today said it was "irresponsible" of New Delhi to furnish a photo of a Pakistani suspect without providing essential details about him.
Rashid said he came to know from the Foreign Office that during the first meeting of the Indo-Pak Joint Anti-Terror Mechanism here yesterday Indian officials have handed over a "sketch" of a Pakistani, suspected to be behind the February 18 deadly blasts on the Samjhauta Express.
There was, however, no name, address or passport number (of the suspect), Rashid told the Geo TV, accusing India of being "irresponsible and not cooperating with Pakistan in the blasts probe."
"In reality the Indian officials do not have any details of investigations, lists of passengers of the two compartments in which blasts have taken place or records of ticket bookings," he claimed.
He reiterated his previous allegations that the passengers were travelling in locked compartments resembling "cages", and said India has rejected Pakistan's request for joint investigations.
The Pakistani team yesterday said the suspect went missing since 2006 and his whereabouts were not known.
