Bangladeshi girl was student of Vellore college: police
Vellore (TN), Sept. 4 (PTI): Police here today confirmed that a Bangladeshi girl arrested by the Special Investigation Team probing the twin blasts in Hyderabad was a student of a college in this district.
Shahi Lajajani, arrested for illegally staying in Hyderabad, was a bachelor of arts student of Auxilium College in Katpadi, Superintendent of Police Arul Selvam told reporters here.
He denied media reports that said Lajajani was a student of Christian Medical College (CMC) here.
According to Auxilium College's Principal Ujjam Fatima, Lajajani had rented a house in Johnson's Colony at Palapuram in Katpadi and used to frequent Hyderabad.
Police said they were gathering details about her from residents of the colony.
Lajajani revealed she had studied in Vellore a few years ago during her interrogation by SIT officials.
There were reports in the media that she was an alumnus of CMC, but CMC Director George Chandy denied them. He recollected a Bangladeshi girl had donated blood after admitting her father in the medical college hospital in 2005.
After going through records, it was found that the girl was Lajajani and that she was studying in Auxilium College.
