'No comment' on arrest of Vaiko, Nedumaran: LTTE
Colombo (PTI): LTTE on Tuesday refrained from making any comment on the arrest of MDMK chief Vaiko and Tamil Nationalist Movement leader P Nedumaran, who were taken into custody in Tamil Nadu for defying a ban on a rally to condole the death of the Tigers' political head S P Thamilselvan.
The two leaders were arrested while trying to go ahead with the rally yesterday in Chennai to condole the death of Thamilselvan, who was killed in a raid by the Sri Lankan Air Force on November 2.
"LTTE does not immediately want to make any comment on the arrest," sources close to the outfit said.
About 300 protesters from parties like MDMK, Indian National League and Tamil National Movement courted arrest along with Vaiko and Nedumaran near the Munroe statue in Chennai.
