India finds nothing wrong in Pelosi's comments

New Delhi (PTI): India on Friday found nothing wrong in US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi expressing her views on Tibet over which China clearly voiced its unhappiness.

"They (United States) have expressed their views. They are not putting pressure," External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee told CNN-IBN when referred to Pelosi's strong comments on Tibet after her meeting with the Dalai Lama.

Describing the situation in Tibet as a challenge to the "conscience of the world", Pelosi asked all freedom-loving people to speak out against China's "oppression".

She said the US Congress will continue to meet the challenge of conscience that Tibet offers.

Clearly unhappy at Pelosi's comments, Chinese Ambassador to India Zhang Yan warned against any "meddling" in its "internal affairs".
