BJP will get clear majority in Karnataka: Modi

Hyderabad (PTI): Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed confidence that the BJP would win handsome majority in the Karnataka assembly elections.

"In the last assembly elections BJP emerged as the largest party but did not get clear majority. But it is clear now that the people of the state would give BJP the opportunity to form the government. BJP would get handsome majority," he told reporters here.

Modi made a transit halt in the city on his way to Raichur in Karnataka for election campaign with only a day left before the state goes for polls.

The Gujarat Chief Minister also asserted that the BJP-led NDA would assume power at the Centre in the next Lok Sabha elections.

Modi has been a star campaigner for the BJP in the Karnataka assembly elections.
