Delhi poll results will influence national politics: Advani

New Delhi (PTI): Upbeat at the party's victories in the MCD followed by Cantonment Board polls, senior BJP leader L K Advani on Wednesday claimed the results will affect politics of the country "because every political activity of Delhi influences entire India."

The former Deputy Prime Minister was speaking to the media at a function held to celebrate the party's victory in Cantonment Board where its candidates bagged five seats out of the total eight for which the election was held.

Attacking the UPA government at the Centre, Advani alleged the honour of the country established by the NDA government in the world has been degraded by the UPA regime in the last four years.

"Terrorism is expanding fast in the country. Internal and external dangers have also increased. The Prime Minister has completely failed in curbing the price spiral," Advani said.

Speaking on the occasion, Delhi BJP president Harshvardhan said, "the results of the Cantonment elections have proved that the countrymen and the people of Delhi do not like the Congress."
