UPA govt will survive: Kamal Nath

London (PTI): The Congress-led UPA government will not only survive the current political crisis following the withdrawal of support by Left parties, but will also return to power, Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath has said.

Nath, who was presenting the "Emerging India Awards 2008" jointly organised by the ICICI Bank and CNBC-TV18 here on Tuesday, raised the issue saying he is being frequently asked now about the future of the Manmohan Singh Government in the wake of developments back home over the Indo-US nuclear deal.

"Of course, we are going to be there for many years to come," the minister said.

Others present on the occasion were Lakshmi Mittal, Chairman and CEO of Arcelor Mittal, Lord Karan Billimoria, Lord Maghnad Desai, John Hutton, MP, Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform of Britain and K V Kamath, Chairman ICICI Bank.
