Lalu says he is ready for 'Mahabharata'
New Delhi (PTI): Amid clashes between RJD and BJP members over "destruction" of a mountain range mythologically known as "Goverdhan Parbat", Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on Monday said he was ready for a Mahabharata with the saffron party.
The trouble arose during the debate on the confidence motion in the Lok Sabha when the BJP protested over Devendra Prasad Yadav's charge that the Rajasthan government was "destroying" a mountain range associated with Lord Krishna by allowing illegal mining in the area.
The Railway Minister and the RJD chief intervened when unrelenting BJP members, mostly from Rajasthan, interrupted his party colleague from speaking.
Prasad lost his temper when he was also not allowed to make his point. "We are ready for Mahabharata. It will start here itself," he said.
Yadav said while the BJP was showing much concern over the Amarnath issue, its government in Rajasthan was "destroying the land of Lord Krishna" by allowing the mafia to do illegal mining.
However, the Railway Minister was seen calming BJP members, He also asked his agitated party MPs to resume their seats.
