Advani is our leader, asserts Yeddyurappa

Bangalore (PTI): Declining to be drawn into a discussion over leadership issue in BJP following the party's debacle in the Lok Sabha polls, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Saturday asserted that L K Advani "is and will continue to be our leader".

Mr. Yeddyurappa, who played a key role in his party realising its dreams of installing a BJP government in the South, evaded a question on whether projecting Narendra Modi as Prime Ministerial candidate after Mr. Advani by certain party leaders mid-way through the Lok Sabha polls, cost it dearly in the elections.

In an interview on the occasion of his government completing one year in office, Mr. Yeddyurappa said, "people must have thought that BJP cannot give stable government and voted for UPA, that's all nothing more".

"Advani is our leader", he said.
