Ten-year-old girl hurt in eve teasing incident
Mumbai, July. 23 (PTI): In a shocking incident of eve-teasing, a ten-year-old girl was allegedly chased by eight boys in a jeep which dragged her some distance severly injuring her in a north east suburb in the metropolis.
The girl Asma was admitted to a hospital with two broken vertebrae and it would take months before she recovers, her mother Ayesha Sheikh told PTI.
Asma was returning home from her tuition on July 14 when a gang of youth in a jeep chased her hurling foul language. A frightened Asma tried to escape from the harrasment but her skirt got entangled in the rear wheel of the jeep and was dragged for several feet by the vehicle.
Sheikh said Asma is recuperating with a plaster on the right hand, several bruises, injuries in the hip and badly wounded leg.
The police has registered a case of rash and negligent driving and also arrested two persons, said a police officer.
